About Kristin Oliver, MD

Kristin Oliver, MD practices sports medicine and specializes in regenerative orthopedics at Bluetail Medical Group. She sees patients in the Columbia and Chesterfield, Missouri offices. Her expertise in regenerative medicine includes percutaneous stem cell grafts, supporting matrices to nurture the grafts and musculoskeletal ultrasound for both diagnostic and needle-guided techniques.  She has performed more PRP and BMC injections than any other practitioner in the United States.

After receiving her medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Dr. Oliver completed her residency in family practice at the University of Missouri in Columbia. She then finished a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Missouri Columbia and Columbia Orthopedic Group. She also received a Master of Science in public health from the same university. Dr. Oliver is board certified in family medicine and sports medicine.

Dr. Oliver has served as a team physician for both Central Methodist College and Missouri Valley College and is active in the care of local athletes, young and aging alike.

Dr. Oliver speaks on bone marrow techniques and stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis at prestigious conferences in locations around the country, including the Andrews Institute for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and The Orthobiologic Institute.

She has been the lead investigator on many articles on regenerative orthopedics published in peer-reviewed journals. Topics include PRP in musculoskeletal medicine, Achilles tendon tears, bone marrow aspirate, and knee osteoarthritis.

When she’s not in the office, Dr. Oliver enjoys distance running, fishing, gardening, and spending time with her family.
